Protocol governance body
Custodians of deterministic infrastructure
The Aeltrix Foundation exists to preserve protocol neutrality, enforce correctness guarantees, and steward long-term network integrity. We do not build products. We protect principles.
Core doctrine
Founding principles
I
Determinism over speed
Every state transition must resolve identically across all validators. We will never sacrifice correctness for throughput. Probabilistic finality is fundamentally incompatible with institutional settlement requirements.
II
Correctness over growth
Protocol upgrades are constrained by formal verification. No feature ships without proof of safety preservation. The upgrade surface is bounded — not by convention, but by governance enforcement.
III
Security over convenience
Slashing is enforced automatically at protocol level. Validator misbehavior is penalized without exception. There are no governance overrides for slashing. No reputation-based exemptions. No size-based leniency.
IV
Neutrality of execution
The Foundation does not operate validators, build applications, or hold positions in ecosystem tokens beyond the base protocol reserve. The Foundation's role is constitutional, not commercial.
V
Transparency by default
Treasury movements, governance votes, upgrade proposals, and validator performance data are published before execution. Retroactive disclosure is classified as a governance violation subject to formal review.
VI
Bounded upgrade surface
Protocol changes require ⅔ supermajority validator approval, a 14-day cooling period, formal impact analysis, and determinism-preservation proof before activation. Emergency patches follow the same process with a compressed 72-hour window.
Governance framework
Pre-launchPROPOSAL LIFECYCLE
Draft → Review → Vote → Execute
All proposals follow a structured 4-phase lifecycle with mandatory cooling periods between phases. Draft phase requires formal specification. Review phase opens public commentary for 7 days. Vote phase runs for 72 hours. Execute phase has a 14-day delay before activation.
VOTING THRESHOLD
⅔ supermajority
Stake-weighted validator voting. No delegation of governance power to non-validator entities. Abstention counts against quorum. Minimum 80% participation required for binding votes.
SLASHING ENFORCEMENT
Automatic + deterministic
Double-sign and equivocation penalties are enforced at protocol level. No manual override mechanism exists. No governance vote can reverse a slashing event. Penalty: 5-10% of stake + validator jail.
TREASURY POLICY
Quarterly disclosure
Foundation treasury allocations, validator reward distributions, and burn mechanics reported every quarter. Treasury holds are cold-stored with multi-sig access. No discretionary spending without governance approval.
Latest disclosure
Q1 2026 — Foundation treasury holds 150M AELX tokens in cold storage. No tokens were sold, transferred, or delegated during this period. No validator rewards distributed yet. No burn events executed. First distributions begin after mainnet genesis. Full report available on the disclosures page.
